my journey to now
When I was little, I was constantly drawing something. Whether it was crayons, paint, chalk, or watercolors; I loved all mediums and art was my favorite! In high school I got to use Pagemaker in my journalism class (one of the first desktop publishing programs prior to InDesign – very old school) and I would look forward to that class most of all. It was the highlight of my school day getting to layout text and images in that program. We had an assignment to do a mock cover of a magazine and it was by far my most loved project as a teen. For the project I used a photograph of my boyfriend when he was 4 years old (he would be my future husband, but I didn’t know it then) – and it is my favorite piece of high school memorabilia!
We married while I was in college and started our family. I began designing in 2009 doing photo greeting cards for family and friends, and then started doing freelance design work for companies like Crane & Company, non-profit organizations, and individuals. I now run my own design studio providing design licensing, and resources for creative businesses.
